Abstract
All Sudanese timbers, imported soft wood timbers and local and imported forms of reconstituted wood are susceptible to attack by Psammotermes hybostoma Desneux. Pressure treatment of timber with copper chrome arsenate or creosote oil is effective in protecting it from attack. Dipping and, or, brushing with the same preservatives are only effective in protecting timber for a short period.
